Being a military dependent means that any person in your direct family is enrolled in the armed forces. This may be your mom or dad, your son or daughter or brother or sister that are either serving in the army, navy, marine core or air force whether in active duty or retired. If you meet any of these qualifications, then you are a military dependent. Not too confusing, right?
As a military dependent, it is sometimes difficult to being able to afford the ever rising costs in tuition or schools supplies. After all, families are going through enough stress with a loved one serving our country abroad and so a great way to getting a military scholarship for your studies is to find out which program you may be eligible to apply. You see, there are many grants and scholarships that are limited to enlisted members only and these programs have very specific requirements. Other scholarships and grants are less restrictive and allows everyone to enroll. Sometimes even non military people can apply, like it is the case with the free military scholarship program that was created in 2007.
In order to enroll, you must fill out a registration form with a few basic details. Once registration is complete, you will receive information about different schools and programs that you may be interested in attending. This scholarship money can be used as you see fit: to pay for books and supplies, to cover meals and transportation costs, pay for a baby sitter, etc. It's your choice!
