Homeschool High School Transcript - Tips on How to Make One

If you are home schooling your kids, or you are tutoring kids at home, you may need to find great resources on how to make a homeschool high school transcript for your kids or your students. Especially if you have kids that are preparing for college, it is indeed important that you have a good homeschool transcript where colleges can assess and get credits for the classes.

To help you make your own homeschool high school transcript, here are a few things that may help you.

Make sure that your transcript has complete information but don't go overboard. The basic information you have to put in your transcript should include the full name of the student, gender, the date of birth as well as the address and social security number.

Although you need to have a complete information for your transcript, you also have to make sure that you do not go overboard and overdocument your kid's academic record by going back to preschool. Although you can allot a portion for the extra curricular activities of your home schooled child, it is a consideration not to put too much unneeded information on your transcript. If a tutor thinks your child excels in certain other abilities, skills and talent, then you can ask for a recommendation and not anymore elaborate them on the transcript.

When creating a home school high school transcript, the basic information should include the complete name of the student, with last name written first, age, gender, birthday, social security number, school last attended, as well as the student's academic performance and history.

Make sure too that you have a professional sounding name for your home school as this will sometimes affect your college admission. If you want to make sure that your homeschool high school transcript is acceptable to most colleges, then you have to make sure you have a professional sounding name, a professional template for your transcript and a good description of the subjects and courses that your children have undergone.

Keep in mind too that in writing down the subjects and course, you have to make sure that the descriptions are simple and clear so that the colleges giving credit will also be able to give credits easily to the classes and courses being taken.

You can also make use of the standard state course numbers for easy course identification and accreditation. Include extracurricular activities as well. Most colleges are interested in extra-curricular activities that the students participate in. If there are other teachers and tutors who believe that your child is a prodigy in math or music or in the arts, you can always ask for a recommendation instead of putting it all in the homeschool transcript.

Make your transcript clear and easy to understand. Of course, do not hand write your transcript. In fact, you have to pattern it to a professional and standard transcript. Make it concise and make sure to include only the relevant information that should be included in a home school transcript.
